BANKSY!

I've just emailed the graffiti artist Banksy who is extremely well known. His art is controversial becuase its done on public property, therefore its a form of (illegal) graffiti but its art becuase he doesnt write his name, or his "tag"... instead he uses stencils to create images that provoke moral panic within our soceity. Through his graffiti he highlights issues such as animal testing.... the condition of our sewage systems etc etc.

Below are a few newspaper cuttings that explain the 'hype' around this male artist:
(ps: Banksy isn't his real name)

* The stencil above, if you can't see the article, explores the idea of a "love triangle" where a husband is looking out for a man, who in fact is hanging naked from a window

* The other two cuttings show his attempt to put a piece of stone, with an image of a stickman and trolley carved in. He put this up at the National History Museum but the adhesive he used was too weak and eventually fell off.

Below are two more examples of his work:

He would be an asset to our documentary but I'm not sure if he'll reply to my email... and even if he does i think he might say no because of his secret identity and for security purposes.
Still... better than not trying at all...!
His work can be accessed from his website: banksy.co.uk
